The Tintale Education Foundation (TEF) is a non-profit, accredited primary school in Tintale Village that serves youth throughout the rural Udayapur district in eastern Nepal. Founded in 2003, TEF was established to meet a huge educational need in this region, as many students needed to walk hours to and from school, a distance that still keeps some children in remote areas home and out of school. In 2022, TEF expanded its educational offerings to include the Class 9, so that students who graduated from the Class 8 in Tintale and nearby villages could remain in a high-quality educational environment within Tintale. Our goal over the next several years is to offer up to Class 12.

The school is inaugurated and registered, offering primary education to a growing number of students and employing 6 qualified teachers. This is the first accredited school established in Tintale village.
A two story building with classrooms is built, providing three additional classrooms and an office. This took the school to the next level at that time. More classrooms meant more students, raising the bar for educational standards in the area.
The school is expanding with 5 additional classrooms built with bamboo. TEF is now able to welcome over 350 students on a daily basis. This new construction effectively normalized high-quality and equitable education access in Tintale, a dream back in 2002
